Anne's Life Discovery
A Personal Note
My roots are Canadian. I grew up on the north shores of Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario. Maple syrup still runs in my blood making me a sweet tooth.
I am a high achieving first born. In my early 40’s, I tried to be super everything by working day and night. I robbed my body of rest and experienced burnout. Now I have a heart to encourage others to balance their lives for total health.
I have survived a ski accident, the tragic loss of both of my parents within 3 days of each other and a serious car accident. Loss and limitations are teaching me the value of fresh perspectives and precious moments.
Professional Life
I am a Certified Life Coach, CLC affiliated with the Christian Coaches Network, and an ambassador with the Institute of Life Coach Training where I received my training. In order to be more mindful of the powerful non-verbal messages of the body, I also have training in Body-Mind Life CoachingTM
To “walk my talk”, I constantly enroll in advanced levels of coach training. I also hire a coach for personal growth accountability. This keeps me at my best and creates a common connection with clients.
I have a master’s degree In Education and a bachelor’s degree of Applied Science in Child Development. Just for fun, I took continuing education in floral design and clowning.
Ministry Life
My life is my ministry. I am currently training and coaching Life Group Leaders for a church in Sacramento and preparing to be the keynote speaker for a women’s retreat in Canada this fall.
I am a trainer with Speak Up With Confidence, a three-day seminar for men and women with potential as speakers, teachers, and leaders interested in developing the skill of speaking with confidence and clarity. I offer workshops in creativity and learning styles for advanced speakers.
Over my lifetime I have served as a Christian Bookstore owner, director of Christina education, family life coordinator, children’s worship leader, women’s ministry teacher.
Love Life
My husband Don is truly my best friend! It was “love at first sight” but we began our marriage 33 years ago with overly ambitious career goals and poor communications skills. In just two years our marriage fell apart. Through God’s grace and the miracle of forgiveness it was restored.
Now we use our very different yet complimentary learning styles to team teach in our speaking ministry. We share humorous stories and sound biblical principles to help others strengthen their relationships.
Don is a board certified family physician. This year he exchanged his stethoscope for a “suit and tie” position as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for a hospital system in Northern California. We left the prairie of the Midwest for the foothills of the Napa.
Family Life
Don and I relish the pleasures of parenthood while facing the challenges with heartfelt prayer. Although all three of our children have left the nest, we remain very involved and connected as parents. Our daughter Allison is a freelance editor. She and her husband Michael live in Sacramento, CA. Our son Matthew is a professional volleyball player and travels the world. Our son Jonathan has a creative soul and pursues his passion for music and film in Los Angeles.
My niches include:
- Marriage enrichment
- Public speaking
- Developing creativity
- Learning styles
- Child development
- Children with ADD/ADHD
- Home and time management
- Life transitions
